RCIA Week 2: Salvation & Redemption
- The "Born Again" statue was sculpted by Dean Kermit Allison.
- Fr. Robert Spitzer has a really good talk from the Augustine Institute called "Science, the Origin of the Universe, and God." The CD is available for $4.50 and the MP3 download is available for $2.49. He has approaches the topic from the perspective of physics and astronomy; it's heavy on the science but still approachable.
- A good book to pick up on the covenants of the Old Testament is Scott Hahn's A Father Who Keeps His Promises. You can actually get the book for free and only pay shipping on Dynamic Catholic's website.
Notes & Resources from Class
Here are some of the links/notes that John mentioned on Thursday 10/8:
- Want to listen/read some good content on St. Paul's writings in the New Testament? Taylor Marshall wrote a book called The Catholic Perspective on Paul. Taylor Marshall covers a lot of different topics, and devotes a whole chapter to justification, faith, and works (see ch. 3). I mentioned that he did a podcast series on the book, but I've looked and that has now disappeared from the internet.
